Maille Spice Cookies With Mustard

Mustard in cookies? YES because it intensifies the spices and makes a beautiful smooth dough, what best for flavourful biscuits this holiday season
Ingredients
- 280 grams all-purpose flour
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 170 grams butter
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 tablespoon Maille Dijon Mustard with Honey
- 170 grams sugar
- 1 egg
- In a deep bowl mix the butter, sugar and mustard with a hand mixer until light and fluffy
- In a separate bowl mix the flour. spices and baking powder
- Add the flour mixture to the batter and fold until just incorporated
- Roll out with a rolling pin to about 1 inch thickness for crispy cookies or thicker for crunchier.
- Add the egg yolk to a small bowl and mix with 4 drops of water and mix well.
- Cut out in desired shapes and brush with the egg mix
- Place on baking paper lined baking sheets and bake in batches in a preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius for 15-20 minutes
